addicted to facebook

It is not that i don’t want to blog, and am in fact being gently nagged to do it but, i have become addicted to playing treasure madness on facebook..nothing gets don that can’t be done in the time it takes to regenerate some strength to dig some more,

Well my mother always said “be careful what you wish for, it might come true”…and boy was she right this time. I love snow and wanted a white Christmas.

Christmas eve in my street

Christmas eve in my street

…an unusual thing this close to the town centre and the tidal Clyde, well we got plenty, this was not a problem for me as i didn’t need to go out in it but the rest of the country seems to have come to a standstill. still go snow but it seems to be melting.

so the London contingent , were to come up on Christmas eve , then they couldn’t come , then they could , then they couldn’t, then they went to the station but JJ (very autistic) got spooked by something so they went home and had Christmas day there, and finally arrived yesterday (26th)…glad they turned up as fridge full to busting. and i had bullied builders.….….….yes they are still about the place.….…..into finishing the walk-in wardrobe in the room JJ is occupying.

Christmas day was just perfect, i got up late , sat on comfy sofa, listening to carols. had light lunch, opened some presents,.….

New bird feeder

New bird feeder

.new bird feeder from him upstairs.…..who hung out of his window

him upstairs ...and dog in hat

him upstairs …and dog in hat

to wish me happy Christmas when i went out to hang it from tree, .….. made a full Christmas dinner, turkey and all the trimmings, and watched daft films all day, small boys phoned in the morning and sang to me over the phone, and older grandsons

skyped

skyped

talked on skype in the afternoon, what more could anyone ask for.

it is now 27th, they are all out and it is peaceful, i spent a nice afternoon at an engagement party.….wedding on beach in Israel in august , looking forward to that.

gnomon

it took a great leap of faith today for a person that lives in the west of Scotland.….i bought a gnomon.

This morning, i did something my parents would have, and did many times, told me off for. the day was raw and foggy and much colder that i had thought when leaving the house with small boys . i held the hand of the wee one on the way to nursery and told him to put the other hand in his pocket to keep it warm.….…..hands out of pockets we were told many times as youngsters.

for those that don’t know, including the garden center where i bought it, a gnomon is the face of a sundial, i have the perfect round plinth to put it on.….….if the builders haven’t chucked it out.

spell checker hadn’t heard of it either.

what did Joseph really wear ?

we happily dressed the youngest grand son in the Josephheadgear that i had bought for their dressing up box in Egypt last year, and he played his part perfectly but it occurred to me this morning as i was removing the remnants of his brothers cat make Catup that Joseph was Jewish and the head dress was Arab.

ah well.

so

Chippenham is a small place so why did the nursery school and the primary school schedule their carol concert and their nativity play on the same night at the same time, thus causing problems for families with a small child in each performance.

the wee ones father is working away from home for most of the week and was not able to go to either, so i came down for my monthly babysit a day early.……well actually there were a couple of other reasons why i was down early.….…..anyway Nicola had managed to go to the carol rehearsal so she went with the younger boy who was playing Joseph.….….a speaking part despite the old jokes about Jewish husbands not getting a word in.….….….and i went with the older one who was for some reason dressed as a cat.……there were apparently cats and mice in the stable…the concert was great but i was very concerned by queuethe wait outside the church before it started, the whole primary school plus parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts etc were all queued along a very busy road and in the church grounds with cars reversing out of the gates and in tiny spaces where small children were excitedly jumping about. and at the end it was a melee i was lucky that Aiden found me quickly.

their Auntie Marisa sent them Santa outfits.….….…way too cute.

help with santa's trousershere you are

more of why i was down on Sunday to London, Ian had to go to Hong Kong suddenly and his ticket for the Eddy Izzard appearance at wembley was going begging so as i also needed to be reunited with my suitcase i drove down on Saturday arriving in plenty of time to get to wembley.

the best thing about Wembley is there is no queue for the ladies toilets, it is wonderful to find a venue that actually realises that you need a decent amount of loos for women.

at last i now have all my photographs.…..hundreds of the things.….….….and all the contents of the suitcase. so while i was not impressed with the flight being cancelled at the last minute i was impressed with TAM getting us to London via Paris and getting our cases to us eventually.

I have been editing lots of photos of waterfallswhat a lot of water

i can now be ecstatic

hungrymy suitcase arrived.….….….……in London 400 miles away from me yesterday, but Abigail’s didn’t arrive even though it was at her house that mine arrived. but tonight hers arrived intact apart from one broken bottle of her favourite perfume so i can at last be pleased that mine arrived yesterday, so more photos will be appearing here apart from the ones from the last day of the interesting wildlife at the fish market Valparaiso.

i have officially moved into my new bedroom, there are no curtains so a sheet is pinned up to preserve my modesty, shutters are on their way… i hope. I have been moving all my clothes etc across to it and the now spare bedroom is cleaned and ready for all boarders at Christmas.….….there were not supposed to be any but the count of people staying is now up to three, but i have been promised peace and quiet on Christmas day to veg out in front of the telly with lots of food and no guilt.

sea lioni am having a lovely time.

builders turned up today to see if there was anything needed doing, there wasn’t so they sat in front of my log fire and gossiped.….……the log fire was because I, being i bit dim caused my boiler to lose all pressure. i had bled the air out of my two new radiators as they were half cold at the top, but did not replace the water in the system at the time hence the freezing house this morning ( the outside temperature being –5)…but i t was easily fixed , at least i am not that dim :-) )

tiger tiger 3and .…..a wee boast here in case i didn’t in an earlier blog.….….well you don’t expect me to read them do you.….……My photograph Tiger Tiger won the camera club competition.
