In Bath unexpectedly…mobile phones are wonderful

i felt in holiday mood as i drove away from the building site that is my front garden, i was heading to London to attend the wedding of a young man whom i still think of as 6 years old.….….he is in fact approx 30. he and his brother were a pair of the nicest children i have ever known.….…anyway,
just as i reached tebay for my all day breakfast my phone rand, it was Nicola’s mother in law who was staying with her for the half term holiday, Nicola was being taken to hospital with suspected appendicitis.
the traffic that day was horrendous it being holiday time and all the world seemingly en route for somewhere.
so when the road changed from the M6 to M6 toll i phoned again and decided i would stay on M6 to get to M5 and thus to Bath where she was in hospital. texting Abby to say i would be a day late coming to stay but would be there on Tuesday as we had tickets for Dylan Moran at the Apollo theatre.……hugely entertaining.… she offered to book me into a hotel in bath which was a god send as it took hours to get there and i arrived just on hospital visiting time and would never have found an hotel in the dark and shiny wetness of Monday night.
so i was able to stay with her till she was wheeled off to theatre. thence to the mercure hotel in queen square.….…..my sat nav denied all knowledge of queens square.….….
saw Nick on Tuesday looking sore but OK, and drove to London taking 3 and a half hours , so much traffic. then the Dylan moran was great, even then the traffic held us up so we were a couple of minutes late.
today we went and chose paint for Jonathan’s new flat he moves in on Sunday and then Esther and i went on a shoe hunt as the wedding is tomorrow and neither of us had a decent pair of party shoes.…we are now exhausted.

they are still milling about my garden

They informed me yesterday that they were coming for Christmas lunch.
I was foolish enough to remark that i thought there were still lead pipes bringing water int the house from the Toby in the road, that was in fer a digIT next thing they are digging a trench all the way up the drive.

Starting at the doorstep of him upstairs, who upon opening his front door yesterday nearly fell down a hole.diggin
they did find lead but not where i said it was.……i know it was there because i had photographed it when a bit needed repairing. all this is not wasted though because it was one narrow not deeply set copper pipe and it should be two ( One for him upstairs and one for me) blue pipes made of something flexible and dug in much deeper, also they discovered a gas pipe that should not have been where it was and was a bit corroded ‚so out came the gas engineers.. they also made me empty two big cupboards so that they could see under the floor, then didn’t need to ‚it is a conspiracy to make me tidy up and through things out .

Cameron came to stay for the school holidays and every wardrobe should have onewe put together Ikea furniture woodworkat grandmas, played computer games moved furniture about the house, tidied up, took a car load to a charity shop, played on facebook , cooked, played on facebook again.went out and took photograph in Queens Park.….….alma materthe view from where the flag pole is is wonderful on a sunny October day.…. a good time was had by both.

I have decided not to have curtains in my lovely minimalist new bedroom , i have ordered plantation shutters.….….….this is all so different for a person who likes nothing to change.

AND i discovered what happens when you put a tiny amount of bubble bath in a whirlpool bath, it was like the magic porridge pot, bubbles everywhere like a large meringue on top of the bath with me completely disappeared among them, anybody peering through the skylight would have seen nothing improper only my head in fits of the giggles sitting on a heap of snowy bubbles.

so , here i am still here.….….….it has been a while and i apologise, people have been gently nagging me, but i had the heavy doses of the common cold in five weeks and felt like doing nothing except playing bejeweled on my facebook page. and occasionally twitting or reading Neil diamond’s sparse twits.

i have been out and about between bouts of the cold and things have at last been getting finished with the building work. in fact my car is in its garage.

i am just back from chippenham and a baby sit and at the moment cameron is here ‚we are supposed to be either painting the hall or going to ikea to buy a chest of drawers, but i ave been playing chain rxn on facebook and Cameron is composing music on an apple mac notebook i have been putting shelves and rails and drawers in my new wardrobes
lunch time now as diabetics need regular food.…..which is a pity really as i have not been out to buy any since getting back from chippenham.…..lots of apples though.
