confined to kitchen and vengeance is mine saith the Lord

and i don’t even like cooking.
the builders have worked hard and cleared all the tons of stuff and have repaired all rotted woodwork, put in damp proofing, thick insulation and several inches of concrete,cemented-hall i now can’t get to my bedroom, lounge, dining room or front door till morning,it’s like being on holiday.
and my old mosaic tiles have found a new home , broken-floori offered them on Glasgow freeshare and there is someone willing to chip off the old cement so that she can mend bits of her floor.
Rentokil came out and gave me £250 because of the rotted wood.….…nothing for the cost of removing all the flooring or replacing the tiles. i may cancel policy.….….though i didn’t expect anything as i was sure they would say it was the wrong kind of rot. so i am happy to get anything to help with the cost of it all.

it is so difficult choosing floor coverings.

taken-by-surprisewent to niece’s surprise party on Thursday.…she had no idea ‚she is now the same age as me.

i still love my petrol lawn mower.

i may remove my Scottish flag stickers from my car, everybody seems to hate us now. I don’t usually say anything political but i am in agreement with sending a dying man home.….…..just because he might be an evil man.….and i am not convinced that it was him .….….. two wrongs don’t make a right and where are our ’ christian ’ values if we don’t show compassion.….and wasn’t our god supposed to have said “vengeance is mine”

rotten beams

well where do i begin with this reputedly quiet life.….….…..nice-hallwaythere are builders burrowing under my bedroom floor , i am on my bed having retreated to the only tidy room in the house. the beautiful 100 year old mosaic tiled floor is being removed .….…i am salvaging as many as possible.….….because the beams underneath are rotted away and the floor is sitting on sand. i was wondering why the hall was getting so uneven.underfloor
i am sad to see it go as it was beautiful but there were a lot of damaged bits , anyway now i get to choose some nice new tiles.

last week boy-by-the-seaCameron and i went all over fife and central region taking photographs and picnicking in the rain.
on-end-of-kite

also the builder working on my extension asked me to photograph his show houses down in Kilmarnock for the advertising which i did but the weather was bad so i shall go back if ever the sun comes out again.showhouse

Abigail and JJ came on Monday and we hired a film on bt vision, never done that before, will do it again.
but the windows are in on the new bit and internal walls being done today.my-bedroom
AND my headache has gone, this one lasted from Sunday till Thursday, i am sure it is something i eat but don’t know what.
now i have to go choose tiles, bathroom things and wardrobes.

too busy to blog

members of my family have been asking why no bloggings for awhile, they even had to resort to the telephone to see if i was still extant,
i have been too busy for a quiet life, i know that given my way i would sit on my sofa all day playing games on my ipod.……this is not a waste of time , this is exercising my brain.….….but i know it is considered odd to hide in the house all day so i have been out and about camera in hand taking photos of anything that moves or doesn’t move.
also i have landscaped my garden.…ankle allowed it.….and with the money i saved by doing it all myself i have bought a telephoto lens , which hopefully will arrive tomorrow.
going to sky watch tonight in hopes of seeing meteor shower.
also distributing lots of books among the charity shops.…still have hundreds more but i am determined to get them tidy and to stop hoarding the ones i wont read again.
work has stopped on garage and room due to both swine flu and rain.…the swine flu swept through the place making the windows and the rain has held up the bricklayers. but tomorrow hopefully all will start again.my-plants-are-laughing-at-mesquidgy-bridgemovingflower-of-scotland

and mustn’t forget the wonderful wedding next door, it seemed to go on for a month, but the last bit of it was last Saturday night at the Glasgow Hilton, him upstairs , and them across the road all went and had a great time.dancing-with-his-dad

Glasgow does it again

this ‘quiet’ life is getting silly.….……this weekend it was the final act of the Sikh wedding, we danced till 1 a.m. at the Hilton hotel, this time i wasn’t the only pale person and there was a great mix of people including him upstairs, and them across the road.…..dancing with him across the road was interrupted by a tiny boy who was fascinated by the kilt.….even though some Sikhs were wearing one.
Judy has given me enough curry to feed an army.

then today i was down at Glasgow green where the second day of the festival was on and i got to see stunt horse riding, a high wire motorbike act , a man up a very high tower several live bands including the bay city rollers.…remember them.…Bay city Rollers

Sky diving

so many things i can’t remember them all and received several free gifts.
it cost me £2 to get in and £5 for a baked potato and large coffee, excellent value for 6 hour entertainment.….…and the sun shone. img_6832flower20of20scotland
