What beautiful weather we are having.….…which was a good thing as the camera club had arranged another wander, this time in Pollock park, so 17 or so of us convened in the car park then all broke into small groups and wandered all over the place .….…this time we all ended up in 1901.…that is a pub/restaurant not an era.

building work going well the foundation is in and the walls are going up.….…i am happy.

meanwhile mattresses all over the place as influx of grandsons and their parents tomorrow.

walking again

Had a dose of the melancholia at the weekend, so i did what i usually do, i went out and vigorously chopped bits off the shrubbery in the garden.….……well they have been growing with the enthusiasm of a small boy confronted by a pond full of slimy things. now they are all looking as if there is a human being in charge, and i was wheeling barrow loads of topsoil about so it is a good thing that this mornings visit to the new Victoria infirmary had the consultant telling me i could throw away the crutches and go back to quad biking and salsa dancing.

so i am now cheerful again and have a blister on the sole of my foot because of walking about Glasgow on way to meet Sheena at piper’s tryst for lunch.

peeved though because they seem to have axed the bus stops near here. was going to use my free pass but there it was ‘gone’.

this new soda stream of mine is driving me to drink, when out i usually drink soda water and lime cordial, but now that i literally have it on tap i feel silly paying for it when out to lunch so today i had a wine spritzer.……it was lovely.

they are at last digging the foundations for my garage and room. meanwhile the mattresses are back on the floor for influx of grandsons etc on Thursday.

this time the online ordering of food was made interesting by the delivery of six packs of bacon.

Cameron’s project revealed and something i have learned

cameron-editing
At last it can be revealed.
the project Cameron and i have been working on these last two weekends.…with many breaks for sodastream.….He has put together an album beautifully decorated of photographs of his mother from day one to year 41.….…..yes I am the mother of a 41 year old.…eek!!
his grandfather hunted out dozens and i hunted out dozens. i scanned them all. enhanced the old faded ones, sharpened up the fuzzy ones, enlarged the small ones and printed them all, he placed them in an album with lots of small flowers etc. and i made a DVD with music as well, just because i can.

Oh and the thing i have learned.…. you can’t dig holes to plant trees with a broken foot.

walls up and down

the engineer has declared my garden wall unsafe, the people on the other side have over the last 100 years been piling soil up against it and it has no where for th water to drain through, so down it cam this week , delaying the building works but all sorts of other things have been under way. i made use of them and their diggers to give the garden a good going over and have all sorts of new plants to go in and fruit trees to espalier against newly fixed wall. i appealed for very old bricks on freeshare and instantly was offered 500 clean old bricks. .…. also asked for a bit of guttering to invert and make a tunnel for toads, a small new wall crosses the toads migratory path so him upstairs suggested a tunnel, and a tunnel they shall have.

Cameron and i were working on a project over the weekend, more of which another time, then he helped me move trees about the garden.

today i have stopped using the crutches having decided they were making me look like a little old lady, so far so good, it is a little tender but OK.wallmoving-trees
