emptying garage

composting-dalek
We were supposed to be sorting things out in the garage ready for Tuesday, but having decided to offer things on free share we had to empty my spare firewood out of my spare composting bins, i offered them and 15 minutes later people were asking for them, and Cameron had fun scaring the family collecting them by turning one into a dalek with a sink plunger.

marshmallow
then of course we had to use some of the fire wood and toast a marshmallow or two.….……his blood sugar went up to 21.4 i might be in trouble with his mother.….…..then we had to look at old photosphotographs.….….then we had to watch Britain’s got talent.then it was bed time so garage still full of junk.

this morning we went to take photos of a nearby block of flats being demolished apparently brick by brick.
ended up in east kilbride photographing street lights.

now meeting up with Brother , nephew, niece, and their partners in Blonde in Edinburgh tonight.….…..seems a good choice as we are all blonde.….…wasn’t there a film like that.…a scary onecomingdown

gordonI have not been idle.….….well not all of the time.
and anyway the blisters on the palms of my hands are sore, great excuse for not weeding the garden.
brother is here from Denmark helping Lindsay decorate his flat, so i drove over to B0’ness near Grangemouth to visit them, the Sat Nav denied all knowledge of street he lives in , which is a pity because i knew i had been there before and expected it to be in the list of previous places visited.….….wish i could remove some of them there are way too many .….…..anyway, address wasn’t in it so had to txt Gordon for the name of street, ruining surprise visit.then drove all round the place looking for the street, didn’t take long , bo’ness is small, lovely view of forththe firth of Forth from his window.
they went off to buy more paint and i went to visit an old friend who has just had her 95th birthday.……she told me i was a awful lassie and that i hadn’t improved, which pleased me greatly.
desperate for a cup of tea visited drew, who produced photographs from 30 years ago.….….if i had realised what i looked like i would have had more fun.….…then it was time to go back and pick up Gordon and Lindsay and collect Laura from the ski slope so we could go out for a meal.…..Lindsay was feeling head achy, so it was just he three of us. drove almost through the arch of a spectacular double rainbow, it seemed so close the we could touch it.
now trying to clear out the garage because building work starts on Tuesday and that involves taking down hideous old leaky garage, which is full of rusting tools. tried yesterday but gave up in despair, will give it a go today.

i know nothing is worth much but it seems wasteful to see it all go in a skip.Nicola suggested i should open the door and tell freecyclers to come and take anything they want. might just do that.

BBQ of season">first BBQ of season

first-bbq-of-seasona joint BBQ was held today between upstairs and downstairs„it was a good day, i made salads a butcher delivered sausages ‚steak burgers salmon and chicken, i made salads, wine and beer was chilled and a good time was had by all. discovered there were three artists among the guests and though they didn’t know each other they all knew people the other knew, so conversation flowed.…and they all admired the artwork on my walls so i was happy, not that it would have bothered me if they didn’t like it , it pleases me to look at it so to me it is good.

Gave marisa a gadget for creating a spark for lighting fires with out matches, she was very happy.

look-no-handsand him upstairs’s friend Alan spent the morning up a tree cutting it down because it has been slowly falling over for the past few months, having split down the trunk.

my ankle is hot and swollen so i think i will go to bed, it has been a long day even though i spent it in a wheelchair being waited on and pushed around by grandsons.

Puffing and puffin

PUFFING

PUFFING

A truly magical day, first the women’s 10K came running past, the first one was here 4 minutes after the start. thousands of them came, all shapes, sizes and ages. the Marie curie nurses that came to watch Basil some nights when i was in desperate need of sleep, stopped to give me a hug, then went running on their way to raise money so that they can provide more much need help to the exhausted.
then by quarter to 11 they were all gone and the mop up bus was passed.
so thought i , i can join the rest of the intrepid photographers in anstruther. so i quickly made up some rolls for lunch and set off along the M8,across the forth Road bridge and down the coast road, there were some very heavy showers of rain and i thought myself daft to be doing it and i was convinced that i would arrive just as the boat chugged out of harbour but no ‚perfect timing.….….…..getting on board with a broken ankle and crutches was another matter , but nothing stops me when determined.
puffin1the weather was lovely, the birds were many, i stayed near the wee harbour on the isle of may and let the birds come to me.….by this time i had blisters on the palms of my hands from the crutches.….….then 50 minute boat trip back to anstruther , where most of our party queued at the famous fish and chip shop, but four of us went to a place called waterfront and had a good old Scottish high tea. it was superb.
two hours drive home arriving at 10 p.m.….….…..i am very tired but it was good

video-call-snapshot-32still have nothing to say as nothing is happening.….….….….things are supposed to be happening but they aren’t.

i was hoping that my new garage and room would be at least started by now but not a bit of it. the old leaky garage is still there with things gently rusting in it and imminent visiting family who will yet again be sleeping on the floor.

OK rant over.

tomorrow i am imprisoned in my house as the women’s 10k race runs right past my house, a great entertainment it is,i shall sit in my wheelchair and hand out water.

but

I was hoping to go on the Queens Park camera club outing to the Isle of May , 22 of us are convening on a boat at Anstruther tomorrow and going to shoot puffins.……with cameras. the to have tea in Anstruther’s award winning fish and chip shop.

my road is closed till 2 p.m.

i might try to park my car in a nearby street tonight, i shall study the race map and see how to get across town if i can escape this area.

that picture at the head of this moan was taken by Cameron with his Nintendo ds of my face as seen on his computer screen when we were having a Skype session. he then , playing with the effects, gave me two heads.

21st Century is great

the three year old Nathan in chippenham knows how to set up a video call via skype , no comment.
