down the back of the radiator

one dolls ‘s hairbrush( antique)

one thumbnail size glass bottle

one knitting needle …size 6

two melted candles

one cotton reel

one pencil

one pen top

one small mouse I made in pottery classes 14 years ago

one domino

one top of a nice wooden box

and four pieces of a wooden puzzle

all stuck down the back of the radiator posted there by Jonathan when he was a toddler.

the radiators are old ‚inefficient and to close to the floor and do not have thermostats, so when him upstairs had one removed from his spare room which was a fairly new one , i thought ” good oh ! “i’ll have that. and while the plumber is here i will get one in the other room as well.

one that i bought in screwfix

nice new radiator

nice new radiator

is fitted already and the difference is amazing.

but

when he tried to drill a hole in the wall for the racket, all he got was sand. the plaster is very very old and just crumbled , so i have spent the afternoon , mask on face, hammer and chisel in hand taking off all the plaster.….

.……ooh the dust.

job done now. but i will have to anchor a solid bit of wood to the wall for him before he will come back.…..the wall is old sandstone blocks and very uneven as the room used to be an outhouse type of thing.

lots of rubble......i love the word rubble

lots of rubble.…..i love the word rubble

fortunately i have some of the wallpaper left so i can rehang a couple of strips.

no new dress for me

went to buy a cocktail dress for a dinner next month but , too late all the shops now seem to be on to their spring clothes..so i bought a Bose Sound Dock instead so Neil Diamond comes through clear and loud from my ipod.….….…this will be difficult to wear to the dinner.

i was going to take photos of the large forbidding looking HMS Daring, The first of class Type 45 Destroyer floating on the Clyde just by the xcape car park but was half way there before i remembered my camera and anyway it was cold and wet and i am not that much a dedicated photographer.

what an interesting world the world of radiators is. i felt the need to replace two old thin single inefficient radiators with two smaller modern efficient double radiators with thermostats on them.….….….…i am now addicted to the screw fix catalogue.

15">a poster by Marc Hillis age 15

Todays email from Marisa,
click on the image to make it large enough to read.

a poster by Marc Hillis,

a poster by Marc Hillis,

I’ve attached one of the posters drawn by a very talented 15 year old whose mum is in our group. His name is Marc Hillis. His Mum is fine with it going on your blog if you want to put it there and she is also ok with his name going next to it. the monster’s teeth are the pen needles which ours kids inject themselves with many times each day, and its fingernails are blood glucose testing strips. You know that — but other folk wouldn’t!

thank you letter from Marisa smyth.….…we won

Hi Everyone
I though you would all like to know that this afternoon the Department of Health have capitulated. All future Change4life campaign material is to be reworded and that particularly damaging television advert is being reworded. One of the first media articles on the subject is here — http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/healthnews/4229149/Obesity-campaign-to-be-changed-due-to-bullying-charge.html
I would like to thank all of you for your support and signing the petition. In the last five days a core group of around twenty of us, actively backed by around 150 others, and with the support of many hundreds more, have bombarded the Advertising Standards Authority, the Department of Health, all major corporate sponsors of the campaign, any MP/Lord/journalist that would listen, DUK, and every large local and regional newspaper in the UK. We have sent them reactions from children and parents, along with posters that the children have made. I will attach some of them to give you an idea of how this has affected our children. We took on the government and won. I can’t quite believe it!
I am now going to have (another)

marisa smyth and wine glass

marisa smyth and wine glass

large glass of wine, and maybe a wee cry!

Thanks again for all of the support
Marisa xx
I(Fiona) will upload the attachments later when i can work out how to do it as it has opened in work and i can’t find my discs to enter the product key so it wont let me cut and paste them to the blog.….…..please feel free to sign the petition if you still haven’t , just to let them know the volume of interest.

resolved

i am resolved to stop eating things i know don’t agree with me.….….…i know that soft french cheese.….Camembert or Bree.….…… and too much wheat, upset my skin and give me pain in my side but i have been eating steak pie and cake and have been baking Bree and cranberries wrapped in filo pastry till the cheese is all runny, i love them . but as of today no more.

so i have been ‘spring cleaning’ to keep my mind off cake. Abigail baked me a birthday cake which was safe for me to eat and it was yummy but i have eaten it all up.

house is looking good though.

birthday bouquet

birthday bouquet

the flowers Marisa gave me on my birthday are still looking very good , roses and lilies etc.

got my photo taken today for my bus pass.….…free bus travel all over Scotland.….….…..not showing photo here, makes me look stern and humourless.
