two night’s out

it took 24 hours to get there

but we did it and it was well worth it, i laughed out loud in several places and having had one of those days where everything went not quite right it was good to laugh.

last night we …him upstairs and me.….….…booked a taxi to go uptown and see the Coen brothers latest film, we were going to eat at Piazza Italia in John st. then up to Cine World to see the film.….…the taxi was very late but we went anyway thinking we would have just one course for dinner

but

the meal and atmosphere was so good that we just sat and enjoyed it slowly giving up on the film.….….

now remembering the effect on him of ordering the wrong colour wine with their meal i had a problem , i fancied the stroganof but have been having a problem with some red wines causing my skin to go blotchy he was having shell fish , we settled on a rose and very nice it was too.

we then discussed the effects of the equator on the way water goes down the plughole, being aware that it goes round in one direction here in Scotland and the opposite way round in Australia.…..then we discussed a question that had arisen on brainiac i.e. if you are travelling at the speed of light and switch on your headlights what happens to that light.….….…i couldn’t sleep after that, well it might have been the large espresso to blame for that.

tonight .….after the frustrating day.….……we drove uptown, were unable to find a parking space so used a newly opened car park and saw the film collected the car and got home .……only £1.50 for the car park as opposed to last nights £10 taxi fares.….….…the day redeemed its self.

i have a heck of a lot to do tomorrow

why and how ?

here's lookin at you kid

here’s lookin at you kid

If my IQ is even half of what Mensa say it is why did it take me nearly 40 years to work out that if you store your vases upside down spiders wont get trapped in them.….….…And on my drive to Chippenham from Scotland i spent the last 100 miles pondering the rear view mirror.….…why is it that at night you tilt it to stop dazzle and you can clearly see the road behind …all three lanes of motorway but in the morning and daylight all you can see it the back seat.i have been pondering this on and off for many years, perhaps i will ask it on yahoo answers.

Nicola’s birthday.…we had chocolate cake.

the drive home was lovely.….i set the sat nav to shortest route not the fastest and it took me through lots of lovely Wiltshire and Gloucestershire villages, beautiful misty golden November day, red, yellow and green leaves on the trees. and just as i had had enough of windy country roads i came upon the M5 and went straight up country . the journey took no longer than if i had gone to the motorway and cut out quite a bit of travelling.

by the way congratulations to America.
