[caption id=“attachment_616” align=“alignleft” width=“150” caption=“four grandsons”]four grandsons[/caption]yesterday .….……another scorching day we all gathered at mugdock park ( near the start of the west-highland way ] and fed the ducks, played in play area and picnic-ed under a huge tree.bothered only by the occasional hopeful dog and an orienteering leader who had lost two of his troupe. Nicola and her nephew plotted April fool tricks to play on his mum.….she threatened all sorts of retaliation if spiders were involved.
by mid afternoon it was too hot to be out and we came home and hid in the coolth that was this lovely old sandstone house.
this morning Nic and Chris took a taxi to the airport and flew to Paris for their 10th wedding anniversary„,it was a surprise for Nic and i have had a nice text message from them. the two wee boys are here with me, the littler one girned for the first hour then was fine and we had a great time .……though we did get soaked coming back from the play park. later we built a tent in the lounge with sheets and had a picnic meal in front of a dvd of monsters inc.
i suppose i should get an early night as they get up at an ungodly hour.….……oops it is already late.

wheels improvised from an under the bed storage thingie.

upstairs dog loves being blasted by a hose full of cold water, so don’t worry about the photo, no dogs were hurt in the making etc

they arrived a three fifteen a.m. and were instantly wide awake so we were a slightly sleepy lot all day but it was a nice day so they got to run riot in the garden . then yesterday we went to the science centre where great fun was had by all of us but it got hot so we came home and had a BBQ.

even hotter today

well i dont know

It is like playing musical beds here today.….…,the two adults and the two wee boys are arriving early tomorrow and i had decided that the parents could have my bed as it is an Ikea one therefore 8cm longer than an ordinary one and Chris is well over six feet tall so i moved into the spare room last week.….……it is like being on holiday.….….….…then i thought the wee boys could share the double bed-setee in the morning room as they like to be together but i made it up tonight and it is reallly comfortable so i am in it watching ‘would i lie to you ’ on telly.….….….but my brother and sister in law arrive in a few days as well and i can’t expect them to sleep on matresses on the floor so perhaps the boys should do that from the start or they will be leaping into the wrong beds in the middle of the night.….….…..i give up .…i am going to build an extension.…..but not yet.….……i have a migrane and half my head is numb.….….…..had to sign Basil’s will today as at last it is nearly all sorted ‚it made me cry.

new camera

pollock park

pollock park

where does it go

where does it go

I have a new camera, a grown up one, with the bit that sticks out at the front that you use to zoom in on things. my brother –in-law recommended it a Canon eos 450D.….….it is super i have been out photographing pollock parkthis evening instead of getting the house ready for all the visitors due to arrive at the weekend.
well actually i have got it nearly ready all i need now is copius supplies of food and to make up the beds for the wee boys.….….……i wonder where the spare downies are.….….….ah well another trip into the attic.
i love mixing mortar it is just like the mud pies i made as a child except there are no bits of flower petal decorating it, instead i have been repointing the garden wall because i want to plant some fruit bushes.……well i feed the garden so now it is time it fed me.….….….and the wall has lost a lot of its mortar so it seemed a good idea to do it while i could get at it, it does nothing to improve the state of my hands though.… they will never use me to advertize nail varnish. oh well another career that i am not cut out for, it is about time i found one i was cut out for before i reach retirement age ( any minute now)

back to the glasgow river festival

Glasgow University seen from top of science tower.catching escapee ducks from duck racefishing a speedboat racer out of the Clyde
Had such fun yesterday that i was up at the crack of 10a.m. .……well it is Sunday.….…..to get to the opening this morning, it was another beautiful day, this is not usual for the glasgow fair holiday, anyway, this time i got up the tower, even though i was early i still had to queue for 45 minutes but it was worth it, strangely i felt a little scared on the way up in the glass lift but once up in the viewing platform i was enjoying it hugely, being able to see for miles in all direction, Ben Lomond looked spectacular.
also visited the tall ship and won a can of Iron bru in a raffle which i drank in the ‘sharp ’ end of the boat.
watched speedboat racing and the rescue of one racer, the rescue was done very carefully with a floating stretcher and a neck brace just in case.
then i sponsored a duck.
went home for afternoon tea as i had done it all but went back at 5 p.m. for the duck race.….…..so they launch ten thousand little yellow plastic ducks into the Clyde.….….…the clyde is tidal.……the ducks set off in the wrong direction.
it was a grand day.….…..don’t know where my duck got to in the race , but they were all scooped up by large men in boats with big nets , a sight i found very funny.
then i was serenaded by Chinese Elvis and came home
