watching the radio and another Boyle

watching the radio
not all lit up

I have Neil Diamond on a continual loop on television it is the film of a radio two programme, remember the ’ good old days’ when you could only listen to the radio. i took a photo or 52 of him singing.

but i have tickets for his visit to Hampden and i am all excited. i fell for him when i was 13 and he was an old man of at least 20.

so yesterday i was generally making a mess by changing the bed and emptying cupboards in search of an errant charger when i noticed a woman peering through the rhododendrons.…or is it rhododendra anyway, odd behaviour i thought so i stared back.……she came up the drive and said she was looking at the windows because she and her brother and sister were writing a book about their time living here as children and couldnt remember if they were arched or square topped, and so i said ” you are a Boyle and came here a couple of years ago” yes she said. so in she came and told me all about the original uses for the rooms.…..i am at the moment sitting in the maids room.……so i am looking out the photos i took of the wall art before the wallpaper went back up, she said they did it at a party many years ago , a little wine had been taken :-) and the photos of their bus trip here .…..so next time there is an upstairs/downstairs party she and her siblings are invited.
neil is now sining ‘home before dark’ for the 6th time which reminds me ,
last night the camera club decided on a jaunt to Bells bridge at night to photograph the Clydes bridges all lit up but a t 10:30 p.m. it was still daylight so we gave up and went to the bar at the crown plaza and photographed each other.

10k race,streetlamps,and getting plastered.">10k race,streetlamps,and getting plastered.

keeping cooljudy and harry with the waterso much happens in my quiet life that this blog has been neglected and i have been taken to task by a reader or two, so here i am.….…..i was going to be doing it earlier but i was distracted by the person who was complaining about my not writing :-)
i have to think back on my week now and i have forgotten what has been going on.
yesterday was the 10 k women’s .….…..i saw one man in drag.….….….race so yet again there were thousands of women running down my street, it was a hot day so Judy next door started to hand out bottles then cups of water and i helped her never had so many people say ’ bless you ’ to me. , most of the runners were wearing pink T shirts so the view from the top of the street looked like a sea of pink blancmange.

then i took over to Marisa a huge parasol to go with her new patio table and a fridge that runs off the car battery that i had for basils insulin she can use it for camerons insulin on long trips, i was collecting seed potatos from a freecycler as i had left it too late to buy some and was reduced to making my friends search for sprouting tatties in the back of their fridges and cupboards.
i took cameron with me then we went round his local streets photographing street lamps he has quite a collection of photos it is amazing the differences there are between them all, there is a website about them he tells me.

before all that him upstairs took off my huge heavy storm doors so that i could get the porch replastered because it was all crumbly and ugly , it is now nice and smooth so i shall be attacking it with a paint brush. and while we were at it i got him to remove the old broken cupboard round the fusebox so that is my next task fitting a nice new one.

and i have sold 8 books on ebay
and 6 books on amazon

i cant remember if i mentioned my trip to falkirk to deliver the travel cot that i had sold on ebay,.….….…when i saw the address i offered to deliver as it was very near where i used to live and i could visit my old friend in her nursing home as well. she used to have a greenhouse and kept me supplied with tomatos for many years so i took her a tomato plant covered in tiny sweet tomatos but they wouldn’t let me take it in in case it has a disease.….….…??? beats me !!
saturday night i was at a party at my niece’s house in the same road as this one they have lived in the house for 24 years and are moving out soon it was good to be able to walk to it though Roslyn drove me the short way home.
i am tired now due to salsa tonight.

meanwhile i had a session af Reiki this morning.….….….…it was like someone taking an ice cream scoop and gouging out the pain from my chest. don’t even feel like writing about it yet.

Camera club challenge

catching the camera manmerry glaswegeons insisting on being photographedit was either sit at home obsessivly watching for people to bid on things i was selling on ebay or join in the fun, so saturday morning found me inside queens park camera club munching on a bacon butty.…..well it was mid day and you can’t do a challenge on an empty tummy.

so we split into five teams of four people and off we set in search of 16 things 12 of which we had to get photos of as amusing as possible i.e. a reptile, the Victoria puma, cathcart circle, the white cart, park life, sporting activity, place of worship, watering hole, stained glass window, eating ice cream, etc etc.….….….….…the trick was not to win as the winning team had to set next years challenge, my excuse for not winning :-) ) then we had to produce 12 pictures for instant judging by 3 pm and while the judges laboured over the entries.….choosing there own as the winners.….we all had afternoon tea yum!

it shows how long it is since i did any ebaying,.….…..where have all the post offices gone, i nipped out to post something and my two nearest ones had gone and the next nearest is awfull and it cost to park near it. however post office online and paypal both allow you to pay and print off prepaid labels online.….……i just hope my weighing scales are accurate. two people ignored my collect from home only bit for large items and now expect me to post them. but the person to whom Marisa gave her greenhouse a couple of weeks ago have bought my old satnav and are going to collect so that saves the paypal fees and postage.

and i have planted 4 more potatos.……the slugs ate all the brussel sprout plants, i am now waging war on slugs.
