Fiona's Quiet Life

spring is in the air and i sat out in the garden in the sun for a while this afternoon,text mes­saging him upstairs a happy birth­day to Egypt where he is scuba diving etc. then i couldn’t get back in the house? because a big fat bumble bee decided to sit on the hinge to the back door, the sun went behind a cloud and it got cold !!!

i took him to the air­port? last week.……not the dreaded ter­minal 5 at Heath­row, just nice Glas­gow inter­na­tional airport.….….….….and there i was at 07:30 a.m. out and about so i thought i would go to Ikea for break­fast, not a chance? they don’t open till 10 a.m. so i thought well Marks and Spen­cer does nice coffee.….…..no not open till? 09:30 ?am.….….……so i went to Asda and bought some cool DVDs and com­puter games etc.

the days seem so longer since the clocks went for­ward, i have spent them edit­ing pho­tos and hanging pictures.….…..well pic­ture frames.i like the way they look without pic­tures in them…but i will put pic­tures in them soon when i find ones i like.

I am not bright, in fact some­times i think i am per­fectly stupid.….….….…because the early light has been wak­ing me up way too early, (i know i should go to bed earlier and use the day­light), any­way too early light was caus­ing me trouble so i went to Ikea and bought some white opaque blinds and, wob­bling about on my lad­der I hung them yes­ter­day, all was well but the light still got too me right in my eyes at 5 a.m. thought the gap between them and the win­dow so I had a think and real­ised they were fall­ing out­side my trans­lu­cent blinds that i use to keep me invis­ible to the out­side world while i get dressed .…they are great i can see out perfectly.….….…so i decided to rehang the blinds to fall behind the trans­lu­cent ones and thus closer to the window,up my lad­der i go , unscrew all the screws and move them all around, then i thought, B****r ! I could have just loosened the screws and slipped the fit­tings out, then I though B****r ! i could have just slipped the fit­tings out of the blind and rehung them or even just wound them down and up the other way thus revers­ing the way they hang.

Maybe all the paint­ing of the attic hatch, and the wood­work around it then the ceil­ing and walls as well because once you paint some­thing you have to paint everything else because it looks shoddy…maybe the fumes in the paint have made me stu­pider than usual.……

No i am just stupid.

went to Xscape and had a Chinese meal on Sat­urday night watch­ing ski­ers on the indoor snow slopes, him upstairs had been work­ing on his flat all day and didn’t feel like cook­ing and i never feel like cook­ing so i was eas­ily per­suaded to go out. He has also fixed my attic lad­der which was badly broken and was provid­ing me with a good excuse for not spring clean­ing the attic.….….….well it is full of junk again, mostly my mother’s junk, it is impossible to throw everything belong­ing to ones par­ent as soon as she dies so it must lurk up there till i feel up to deal­ing with it.….….….there is also lots of Basil’s med­ical books , all well out of date now but impossible to part with.

Had a lovely Easter Sunday in Edin­burgh with My friend Sheena and my niece and nephew.….……it was a good day for Easter eggs too, there was one mys­ter­i­ously on my door­step in the morn­ing yum.

no salsa dan­cing this week as it is hol­i­day time so no exer­cise for me , and all that chocol­ate, ah well.

his name hasn’t ‘dropped off’ the bank state­ment yet, it is going to upset me when it does.

now i am hap­pily plan­ning the removal of the hor­rid ugly gar­age beside the house an build­ing one that matches the house with room at the back for a spare room. and a roof that him upstairs can use as a balcony.….….…..we shall see if plan­ning per­mis­sion will be forthcoming.

hav­ing been asked if the clocks go for­ward this week i looked up my calender…it was wrong say­ing it was 30^th April so i looked up the offi­cial website.….….…..i think we are going to have a shorter sum­mer this year grrr!
