cinema tonight

Been to the cinema tonight with 18 year old autistic grandson JJ ‚we went to see Hairspray as he is in love with Michelle Pheiffer.….…probably spelled that wrong.…… there were some funny bits and John Travolta has gone up hugely in my estimation but gosh the 1960’s were on another planet i.e. pregnant women drinking and smoking and segregation of races. the last song was good though and made me want to dance. he is staying tonight and has gone to bed already so i might go to bed early too as he may get up early and also last night i sat up till 2 a.m. watching a film about the Marquis DE Sade.

spent this morning rushing about getting money into my checking account as the en-suite suddenly needed to be paid for.……still no doors on it though so still not paid for all of it.

yep definitely an early night.

housework

him upstairs, his friend Allan and Jamie son of Elaine demolished demolition-men.jpgmy old wardrobe on Thursday then we had a BBQ and and had a bonfire till half past one in the morning torchlit.jpgdrinking beer and wine. i had to empty the old wardrobe before the new one was ready so there was a mess everywhere and i have spent the last two days sorting it all out .…..i had to as the spare bed was heaped high and Grandson Jonathan needs it for tomorrow night as he will be staying here. it took so long as i got distracted by the hundreds of photographs that were in boxes in the old wardrobe, basil had spent many happy hours going through them all before he died and i hadn’t got round to putting them back up in the attic.

my en-suite bathroom still has no doors and wont have any for another two weeks as they are custom made and the chests of drawers still have not tops, it is a good thing i am not in a hurry to get it finished.

i got sad three times while away, once when my brother played an Eddie reader CD, she was Basil’s favourite singer , once when i got lost..Basil and i got lost a lot due to talking to each other and not watching where we were going, once we were going from Deauville to Le Touquet ( both on the north coast of France) and realised we were lost when we saw the Eiffel tower. we never worried when we were lost as it was all a great adventure. and the final time i was sad was because i stayed in an Ibis hotel, we always got an ibis card which gave us 10 % off and stayed in them all over Europe. so it was sad to be there all alone and not to be able to compare notes with him about the other ones. this one wasn’t all that good as it didn’t have the usual buffet for the first course of the dinner but the breakfast was good and there was free tea and biscuits on arrival.

cheerful again now thoug

some days in Denmark

all is chaos here as the wardrobes are being fitted in my bedroom and i have emptied the old ones as him upstairs and his friend are going to demolish them this afternoon, so all the floors are covered with things and clothes and papers and photos, as i also have some of my mothers things to clear up.

so, the trip to Denmark,

it was great. i ate a lot of fish.and no curry. stood in a church that will be swallowed by the sea by this time next year, climbed a tower that is all that is left exposed of a church that has been buried by the sand dunes, been under the city of Aalborg where there are the remains of previous buildings, walked for many kilometres in the dunes and on the beaches, read three books , done many sudoku, played rummycub, learned how to make sushi, seen a fox run away from a hare while they were watched by a bird of pray which gave up in disgust and flew off.splash.jpgswum in the north sea three times, stood with my feet in two seas at the same time.spent an afternoon in A.D. 1533 been very tempted by three paintings, two sculptures and lots of beautifully designed things, i did buy three table lamps and a dish made by an artist in ceramics.i was going to buy a small ceramic horse but they didn’t take credit cards and when i eventually found my way to a visa machine it refused to give me a decent amount because of the unusual activity in my account.then i got lost on the way back to the gallery so now i must email them and apologise .….…i only found the gallery ( we had visited it a few days earlier) because i was lost on the way home and took it as a sign that i was meant to have the horse. ah well i was wrong.

so i timed it to reach Calais in plenty of time to buy wine, beer, coffee, cheese, bread and any other wonderful foods but i had reckoned without the shops being closed on a Sunday, i am so used to 24 hour shopping 7 days a week that it came as a shock to find the huge Cite de Europe shopping centre closed except for cheap eateries and the multi plex cinema.my crossing was booked for 8:50 a.m. and the shops opened at 10 am but one large supermarket opened at 8:30 so i rushed in there and grabbed what i could and rushed to the tunnel , missed my train but they didn’t mind and put me on the next one. nice way to cross the channel.

my mobile phone had run out of credit due to people sending me too many texts .….it costs a lot to receive messages and phone calls as well as when you send one, that is changing soon but hadn’t then.….……and i couldn’t top it up for some reason so i was wonderfully cut off.

went to chippenham to visit wee boys , it took ages because the last bit of the journey seemed to be affected by the floods, i was then going to go to London ‚have dinner in the west end and bring Jonathan up to Scotland but his doctors appointment got delayed and as i was so late getting to chippenham that i stayed there overnight and came up the next day .

and here i am.
