sofa so good

We pushed, we pulled. we stood it on its end, p1010001.JPGwe even took off it’s feet but all to no avail. through the front door of him upstairs it would not go. so now it is sitting in front of his door covered in plastic and awaiting collection by a free sharer.….……his significant other had been given a leather three seater and a matching two seater sofa, she put the two seater in her flat and we did our utmost to get the three seater through his front door but the door frame is too thick and even taking off the door would have been no use.

I have been scrubbing the wee two room flat my mother was living in until she went into the nursing home, it is amazing how much stuff she accumulated in the short time she was there, anyway it goes on the market on Monday, .……as there are two flats in the same block also for sale i don’t hold out much hope for a quick result, they have been on the market for two months.

in a lot of pain today from sore neck so sitting in bed with hot cat ( you microwave it and it isn’t a real cat ) anyway with a hot cat shaped wheat filled bag at the back of my neck and lots of paracetamol.

i feel the need of chocolate

hill walk ‚door and inexpert witness

i was up there todayver-the-hills-and-far-away.jpg trying to get fit, from the top i could see as far as the firth of forth in one direction and Ben Lomond in another. i am feeling weather beaten as it was both sunny and windy.

new back door got fitted today it took them from 8;30 a.m. to 12 ;55 p.m.. but it was worth it is looks very very nice.

I learnt today how one can be a mistaken witness and actually believe that what one thinks one sees is not in reality what happened.….…..coming back from the hill walk we passed a greengrocer’s shop and i saw ‘him upstairs’ shopping. later i said to him ” Making anything exciting with your onions?”.….…he smiled at me and let me explain that i had seen him in passing. .….…what i had seen was him with a bag full of something in one hand and an onion in the other , my brain decided the bag was full of onions , but it wasn’t he did in fact not buy any onions having decided the quality was not good, yet i would still swear that he bought a bag of onions.….….i am not an expert witness.

i presume JJ has got home safely to London his father flew from Malaga to Glasgow to collect him and fly on to London. it is very quiet here.

upstairs dog rolled deliberately in fox piddle tonight .horrid smell, he had to be hosed down, smelly-dog.jpgi wouldn’t let him in through my nice new door

getting there

It is done.….my lovely wooden floors are laid and a carpet in my bedroom. a team turned up at 10:30 a.m. and worked hard and cheerfully all day, Jonathan spent part of the time curled up on the sofa under a duvet among the chaos jj-among-the-chaos.jpgwatching a video of Mr. Bean.

and i have got it all tidy , except for the books ‚i have to launch a dawn raid on Ikea with Marisa and get lots of bookcases. a couple of people from freeshare came in the middle of it all to take away some curtains and excess furniture. it is at last all coming together. soon i will have no excuse for not getting on with the paperwork that is hanging .…..not literally.….over my head.

JJ has gone to bed and i think i will go early too and read a bit of the final Harry Potter. tomorrow People are coming to replace my back door .….it has not fitted properly since the fire. and JJ’s Dad is coming up from London by aeroplane and his other grandma is delivering him to the airport tomorrow afternoon so he and his dad can fly straight back.

feeling tired and dusty but cheerful.

wedding aniversary

He would have laughed at me again today my propensity for getting lost hasn’t improved, this time it was in a cemetery.……i went in the main entrance and drove , and drove and drove.…..children were dashing through the overgrown bits, squirrels were rushing up the trees, a girl was picking up her dogs dropping in a poo-bag, a man was pushing another uphill in a wheelchair it was tranquil and suddenly i was back where i came in having circumnavigated the whole cemetery so where was the Jewish bit with my basil in it, i knew it was beyond the Muslim bit which was in turn beyond the Christian bit but it wasn’t there, so i drove out of the the grounds and drove round the outside wall and there it was .there are two cemeteries with a road between them and the one up to the way in was a one way street and a very long one. so i went back to the main road and drove along it for a while then turned into a one way street but it took me to the original entrance .mystified i tried it again having this time got a map and found the right road but even that was difficult because it was a hidden entrance so one u turn later i discover there is a barrier in the middle of the road so i can’t cross it .another u turn and at last the right road and a hidden entrance to the other cemetery and there it was , a Christian bit , a Muslim bit and a Jewish bit , an nice Muslim man opened the gate to the Jewish bit and at last i got to visit him and say thanks for all the years we had.

there seemed to be a conspiracy today to keep me from moping , visitors called in all day and workmen came and fitted the doors to my en suite bathroom at last and to put the tops on my chests of drawers, tomorrow the wooden floors go in lounge and dining room and a carpet in my bedroom.

Jonathan comes tomorrow till Thursday so we shall probably go to the cinema again , i hope he can be persuaded to see a different film , his autism means he likes the same one over and over again but one viewing of hairspray is enough for me, i am hoping the film about penguins tempts him.

then i shall email a photo of the chaos that is this house to my ultra tidy daughter , she will freak out and come and tidy me up.
