later the same day.….….……somehow man­aged to pro­duce the best full christ­mas din­ner ever. prob­ably because i was to tired to fuss.. yum !!

Great Granny unwrap­ping her haul today. I nipped across while he was asleep but someone phoned up and woke him so it was a short visit,

I am zom­biefied due to Basil ‘s blood sug­ars being erratic and reach­ing 31 .….should be 5.… in the middle of the night. the last two nights have been sleep­less apart from 3 ten minute sleeps two nights ago and 2 one hour sleeps last night. I am glad the babies are with their other grand­par­ents today even though i miss them .

nev­er­the­less a tur­key is in the oven .….it took me half an hour fig­ur­ing out how to work the oven as i haven’t used it since the fire, and i have par­boiled my parsnips.. so the house is smelling festive.i shall be eat­ing it for the dur­a­tion as he is not hungry i need to find out why his blood sugar is so high when he is hardly eat­ing any­thing, all his doc­tors say to me is , “you are doing very well, well done” which is not a lot of help but i know there is noth­ing they can do as they have tweaked all his meds as much as possible.

I am cheerful.

For­tu­nately we all went to bed early as small boys wake up hungry before dawn. they went uptown to see the christ­massy shops and i got another half hour sleep. then after lunch the lit­tler one and his par­ents all went for a sleep and young Aiden amused him­self for a couple of hours going up and down in grandpa Basil’s won­der­ful chair in that photo he has hold of its elec­tric control.in other words a lovely da

Now it is Brendan and christine Collins…2 days ago it was the Fletch­ers, and last week som­body else, none of these people have ever lived at this address yet every year cards come for them, at least the Fletch­ers are in the same street but no collins to be found.

We have food.….well we had food then baby grand­sons came and ate it. they and their par­ents have opted for an early night. it was lovely to have small boys run­ning about again .….we shall see how i feel about it early in the mornng though

if either brit­ish gas or vod­phone phone me again i will scream, so much for hav­ing a stop on nuis­cence calls.

the last apple fell from the tree last night and is sit­ting in the middle of the lawn the birds cant be very hungry yet.

I should have been work­ing hard and get­ting things ready but i was play­ing with the snow in the deep freeze, it is an ancient one that still gets fros­ted up. so meet my wee snow man.

i have in fact got the rooms and beds ready for the influx , but we have no food, i was temp­ted to go now ( 23:15 ) i love late night shop­ping but him­self not feel­ing too good. so hope­fully i shall man­age tomor­row or we shall be hav­ing the con­tents of the emer­gency store cup­board for christ­mas dinner.….wouldn’t be the first time..

two year s ago it nearly happened but a Mari Curie nurse came in at 22 pm. 2 days before Christ­mas i was sup­posed to get some sleep but food seemed more important.
