he brought his own doggy bag did upstairs’ dog tonight .…visiting brother had a question for him -upstairs so down he comes with dog leading the way bringing a carrier bag with it. straight into the kitchen went the dog in search ot tidbits.

bedroom smelled of wet dog and farts and pepperoni, the new windows open beautifully easily.

have at last phoned Scottish gas to come and fix the boiler. getting fed up with cold showers, they don’t encourage you to hang about in them . so tomorrow it will be fixed, hopefully.

have done nothing else all day due to no sleep last night and feeling like a zombie today.

Magnetic Properties of a Teaspoon

Why are teaspoons not magnetic. it is slightly magnetic but not enough to be fished out of the overflow in my kitchen sink. that is what he,young Aiden (2) was up to while ‘helping’ with the washing up. it has been down there for 3 weeks , i have tried a pair of spencer wells forceps, a grabber thingie that old people use to lift up dropped things, an assortment of slender implements and a magnet stuck to the end of a screwdriver. the teaspoon may well be there till the kitchen falls to pieces, that Belfast sink was a mistake, looks nice but is awkward to clean.

basil very tired, was cheered up by a visit from old friend today but then got cross because old friend was talking about basil’s ex wife and basil has been realizing a few things lately about things that were done by ex-wife all those years ago. so he is now very tired again.

Sticking Ladder

I didn’t want to go into the attic anyway.…..considering we have only half a house. and the lower half at that, we have an awful amount of attic space, it is over what was the wash house /coal bunker bit of the house which has only one story.

anyway he was in need of distraction again so i got the ladder down, then he came into the kitchen which was great as he rarely manages to stay up for very long . we rearrange some things on the shelves, he with his artistic eye telling me where to put things but he quickly tires and it is getting cold so i say i will put the attic ladder up forgetting there was a picture in the way. he ladder, seizes up and won’t go up or down . i wrestle and prod at it and nothing happens , i swear at it and cry , still nothing happens.,

then Nicola phones from her new house. so we gossip and she asks if there is a freecycle group in her area as she has things to get rid of and her computer is still not set up. , so i find a group of only 5 people in Bristol but a nice big group of 203 in chippenham. .….….….…anyway. he gets hungry so i dig up some food. and attack the attic again.

this time i get another ladder and poke at things some more , basil comes along to help. his 14 stone won’t shift it. so he goes back to bed.

this time i climb on to the stuck ladder and it begins to move and then lowers me slowly like a pantomime fairy to the floor.landing suddenly with an un-fairy like bump.

so i closed it up and had a glass of cider. and am now slightly pie eyed as i rarely drink

Upside Down and Backwards

upside down and backwards, thats the way to watch films.…ok freda, the films not me or Basil :-) to divert himself from the pains in his legs we finished off the cine films , Abigail at 3 months old, first day at school etc., then because I, despite huge IQ, am unable to work out how to rewind and tired of holding a reel on a pencil held between my toes and rewinding by hand. I decided to run the films backwards.……much more interesting that way though one keeps worrying why the ice cream stays in the cone.

Those apples and two others are still hanging in there despite it being 17th November and gales blowing.

gave some porcelain dolls today to Pauline (another freesharer. freecycle changed it ‘s name , ) she gave me an espresso machine some weeks ago. I had bought them on eBay , actually it was three wee clowns i had bought but the seller had managed to lose them before posting so i said send me anything i don’t mind so he sent two large dolls , way too frilly for me so it was nice to give them to Pauline. as her husband had asked for some on freeshare.

i love the odd postings on that site. it is the mixture of things people have to get rid of .….….…..did i mention Marisa’s 800 ancient medical books.

the BBC want to interview Marisa about whatever it is she does.

she has got a needle stick injury tonight from Cameron’s insulin needle.….i know she is my daughter because she instantly tested her blood sugar with the blood, i do that every time i cut myself.

Basil is saying nice things to me.…i am smiling.
