gnomon
it took a great leap of faith today for a person that lives in the west of Scotland.….i bought a gnomon.
This morning, i did something my parents would have, and did many times, told me off for. the day was raw and foggy and much colder that i had thought when leaving the house with small boys . i held the hand of the wee one on the way to nursery and told him to put the other hand in his pocket to keep it warm.….…..hands out of pockets we were told many times as youngsters.
for those that don’t know, including the garden center where i bought it, a gnomon is the face of a sundial, i have the perfect round plinth to put it on.….….if the builders haven’t chucked it out.
spell checker hadn’t heard of it either.
