why and how ?

If my IQ is even half of what Mensa say it is why did it take me nearly 40 years to work out that if you store your vases upside down spiders wont get trapped in them.….….…And on my drive to Chippenham from Scotland i spent the last 100 miles pondering the rear view mirror.….…why is it that at night you tilt it to stop dazzle and you can clearly see the road behind …all three lanes of motorway but in the morning and daylight all you can see it the back seat.i have been pondering this on and off for many years, perhaps i will ask it on yahoo answers.
Nicola’s birthday.…we had chocolate cake.
the drive home was lovely.….i set the sat nav to shortest route not the fastest and it took me through lots of lovely Wiltshire and Gloucestershire villages, beautiful misty golden November day, red, yellow and green leaves on the trees. and just as i had had enough of windy country roads i came upon the M5 and went straight up country . the journey took no longer than if i had gone to the motorway and cut out quite a bit of travelling.
