QE2">A farewell to the QE2

I wasn’t going to go, i was quite happy sitting in my nice warm house listening to desert island discs and drinking coffee, but it was such a beautiful golden, blue sunny autumn day, of the kind only the west of Scotland can produce in the middle of stormy days.

so i grabbed the camera and a zoom lens and set off to Greenock for the farewell visit of the beautiful ship the queen Elizabeth 2.

i set the sat nav just in case even though i know the way to Greenock very well, and since i didn’t pay attention it chose the shortest route of three .….…the shortest also happened to take longer than the other ways as it uses all sorts of B roads and crosses moor and farm land, but i was very glad i went that way as the countryside was looking superb, and the road came out at the top of a hill from where i got a great view of her coming into dock. then i went down into town where there was a great party atmosphere.….….…..tonight there will be fireworks but i am not going back for them.….….….….….well maybe.
