Fiona's Quiet Life

that mos­quito got me first but i got him second.….…..i heard him . and all that was stick­ing out from under the duvet was one fin­ger and he bit it but i didn’t know, when he went quiet i thought he was wait­ing to pounce and didn’t get much sleep but i must have got him .…..or the nice cote Du Rhone wine i had had earlier made him too drunk to fly, but there he was on my pil­low the next day with lots of my vin­tage group B+ blood all over the place.

today was the most beau­ti­ful warm golden sunny autumn day, i spent it doing all sorts of little things that needed doing, it is amaz­ing how many things add up when you go away for 10 days. i spent ages try­ing to get my tele­vi­sion licence.….…..Basil got it free because he was over 75 but i needed to renew it, so i tried before i went away as it was due to be renewed on 30^th Sept. too early they said, so i phoned as soon as i got home , no answer, i tried on www.tvlicencing.co.uk but the web site was not at all user friendly and i couldn’t find any way to pay it just seemed to be adverts. so i phoned .. busy line for ages.… so i went to post office, no use go to a pay point they said , so i found a shop with the PP sign but no use they couldn’t use a credit or debit card so i went to another one , same prob­lem, i gave up and went home and phoned again , even­tu­ally get­ting answered, so my ?135.50 is paid . i know i can do it by debit card but i am in the middle of decid­ing on bank accounts and don’t want to set it up and then close the account.

i think they are com­ing to fix my chim­neys tomor­row. bet­ter get some sleep in case they arrive at the crack of dawn. the wee grand­sons were up every morn­ing by 6 a.m. and i shared a room with the 3 year old a couple of nights, it is amaz­ing how much noise a small boy can make in a night, includ­ing sud­denly say­ing a 2.30 a.m..” it’s too dark ., i can’t find my Tigger”

p.s. i just checked out the tv licen­cing web­site and it worked per­fectly so i don’t know why it didn’t yes­ter­day, ah well .
