Workmanship! Not!

So they came this morning to lay Amtico tiles where the damaged ones were removed in February. he smears the non drying adhesive on the floor and lays some tiles beautifully.….….…i go in to see if he wants a cup of tea. they are very dark says i, yes he says continuing to lay them ‘are you sure they are the right ones ’ asks i.yes says he’. so i go and get the original box with the left over ones from when the floor was laid. oops says he.

so off he went, leaving a very sticky floor , so i cant get within a meter of the sink or taps, or the cooker and the fridge and freezer are in the middle of the floor.….….…..someone is driving the replacements from England tonight and a team is waiting to lay them tomorrow, so they tell me. we shall see.

Everest have left a live electric light in a puddle and have screwed the gutter to the wood facing, not putting it on brackets so it is bent and dripping…on to the light. in the puddle. they also left huge bits of wood with nails sticking in them all over the terrace and two huge ceiling support bits of scaffolding and wood. in the room where my party food is to be on Sunday. .….…if i get any prepared in the disaster that is the kitchen.

i have given up caring, if my friends and family cant take me as they find me then they are not much good as friends.

having given up on the painter and the loss adjustor ever agreeing who’s fault it is that they spilled paint on the carpet and removed it despite me telling them not to i have bought a huge rug and painted the floor boards that show, a creamy white. it looks great.

there is now a continuous loop of 189 pictures of basil on the computer screen. and i have printed off several and laminated them to use as drinks mats. and i have printed off some with caption bubbles for people to put their captions in. it is amazing what i can get up to sitting here keeping him company, he has no idea.

at last after 17 years of a leaking garage roof i have had it replaced so a dry garage at last.….i hope.

and so to sleep.
