back to the glasgow river festival
Had such fun yesterday that i was up at the crack of 10a.m. .……well it is Sunday.….…..to get to the opening this morning, it was another beautiful day, this is not usual for the glasgow fair holiday, anyway, this time i got up the tower, even though i was early i still had to queue for 45 minutes but it was worth it, strangely i felt a little scared on the way up in the glass lift but once up in the viewing platform i was enjoying it hugely, being able to see for miles in all direction, Ben Lomond looked spectacular.
also visited the tall ship and won a can of Iron bru in a raffle which i drank in the ‘sharp ’ end of the boat.
watched speedboat racing and the rescue of one racer, the rescue was done very carefully with a floating stretcher and a neck brace just in case.
then i sponsored a duck.
went home for afternoon tea as i had done it all but went back at 5 p.m. for the duck race.….…..so they launch ten thousand little yellow plastic ducks into the Clyde.….….…the clyde is tidal.……the ducks set off in the wrong direction.
it was a grand day.….…..don’t know where my duck got to in the race , but they were all scooped up by large men in boats with big nets , a sight i found very funny.
then i was serenaded by Chinese Elvis and came home
