a different loss
I am distraught.….…a couple of years after we were married he phoned a shop he knew i was in and said “if you go round to San remo jewellers there is a ring waiting for you”.….……we hadn’t had an engagement ring and he wanted me to have one. so i went and collected it. very romantic it was.
i have lost it.
i took it off just after he died and laid it on my bedside table as i was not feeling like wearing rings and i remember then next day wondering where it was but thought it was under a book or something. well i have searched all day . i have emptied all the drawers and boxes and bags everywhere, even the attic. it must have got knocked into the waste paper basket or gone up the vacuum cleaner of something. how could i be so careless of it.
