Plastered

So you should have seen me the next day. i attempt to stand OOOwww!!!

so i crawl along the hallway.….…very cold hard stone tiles.….……climb onto a kitchen chair , slide it about the kitchen while filling kettle and gathering breakfast things, i eat some cereal at the table but really want to get back to bed so i put a flask of boiling water, some tea bags and some milk etc, on a tray and crawl back to my room pushing the tray before me. later i get about the house by putting the knee of the sore leg on the seat of a chair and pushing it about .

img_4484various friends confer, and him upstairs drives me to hospital where an xray confirms a beautiful clean break of my ankle where the quad bike landed on it. a temporary plaster is applied and an operation to pin me back together again is mentioned, but fortunately not followed up on.

i now have crutches and must get re-plastered next week when the swelling is down.…it is really irritating to hobble into kitchen only to find you have forgotten why you are there.

much better today though, headache gone and a bit less inclined to fall over while hobbling about, went to camera club last night , gave them all a good laugh .

my grandchildren’s friends want to adopt me as their cool grandma

Himself would be pleased had he known how useful he would still be two years after his death.….……he had been unable to walk for some time and was pretty well bed bound . so the house is already supplied with hand grips for me to grab. and with a seat in the shower and best of all i have a white plastic chair that i used to wheel him into the shower so he didn’t have to stand.….i am using this to get about, it is best backwards,

so now i am to be found whizzing about the house backwards , one leg stuck out in front and the other propelling me along.

i leave you with that vision while i get the house ready for invasion of small boys .…and their parents tomorrow.

Er - given the fact that the hallways are floored with uneven Victorian mosaic tiling could you PLEASE BE CAREFUL when you are whizzing around backwards on the chair as you don’t need a concussion too! Why do I feel like the mother here?
