A little gentle gardening
Have done something useful today at last, it was another lovely warm spring day so i have been gently gardening.….well not that gentle as it involved moving large lumps of sandstone, some of the ones that were removed from the wall when i had the french windows put in, i wanted a trough to put a climbing rose in but didn’t want it touching the house wall as i didn’t want to breach the damp proof course so the rose is in a large pot and the sandstone forms a trough round it..looks better than it sounds..
also spent a long time wondering where to put this computer when i remove it from this bedroom…couldn’t make a decision so it is still here.contemplated moving all the dining room furniture in here and moving the bed in there as this is a nice south facing room and it seems a waste for a nice sunny room to be used only after dark.but a wardrobe would ruin the proportions of the front room so that is when i gave up and did the gardening.
burglar alarm went off this afternoon in a neighbouring house i investigated but the house looked OK , called the police anyway. then other neighbours and i stood gossipping in the street till the police car came.
tonight i had dinner with people that had known Basil for many many many years, Bernice and Laurie, Bernice is a wonderful cook and a lovely evening was had. Laurie showed me some of his photographs and i realised i have a lot to learn about photography. It was good to talk over old times with someone who knew Basil so well..

That climbing rose planting sounds as if it’s going to be lovely - and efficient by making sure you won’t get damp coming in
Whst colour are the roses?
I’ve got to work on my “garden” - back yard -for most of next week when I’m off work and one eccentric problem is to replant a huge jasmine into a bigger square, sort of white marble pot… I will definitely need to get my next generation to help me!

, and building a wee bit of wall. the rose bush is a dark pink colour but the reason I chose it is the bush is supposed to flower for the whole summer, I have a dark red one that does that already.are you going to cut the jasmine back before replanting or wrestle with a big plant.
, I was spreading manure this afternoon .what fun
I managed the ‘moderate’ sudoku today but not the tough one, but I usually make a mess of it.but now the day can’t start till I have attempted it, breakfast is taking longer and longer. I am at the difficult one again just now.
