All a pallbearer does here in the USA is to carry the coffin into and outta the church.. and then.. back to the hearse.. from there.. to the gravesite.. but.. it's the folks who work at the graveyards duty to put the coffin in the ground. Yes.. I feel for your grandson.. what a chore.. Suppose.. there is something to knowing she's at peace.. OMG.. y’all lower the coffins into the ground???
