helpless to do anything

I held her upright in her chair,my wet hair dripping down my neck, her breathing stopped two or three times, and there was not a thing i could do to help but hold on to her.

Having decided long hair made me look like a bag lady, i went to cousin Rosalyn’s salon for a hair cut, the usual banter was going on , hoots of female laughter, when a young woman in the next chair starts to choke…we all knew she has a tracheotomy tube to help her breath and we knew she can drown very quickly if water gets into the tube so great care had been taken.…what we didn’t know was that she needs a suction pump every so often to clear the tubes and if she starts to cough the tube comes out .
Roslyn ran across the road for a doctor, the assistant dialled 999 and i held on to the breathless young woman.two doctors and a nurse ran over to us, but who keeps suction pumps . they did what they could with oxygen and an ambulance and a car full of paramedics arrived within a very few minutes with much needed pump.….…so all is well.

so sombody out there please design a portable suction pump .

afterwards we were all very shaken.…It brought back the last few hours of Basil’s life … 5 years ago on February 7th.…..so i am sitting wrapped up in a blanket feeling exhausted.

Otherwise my quiet life is still quiet
